Letter mM. アルファベットのM
This week we explored the letter Mm through different styles. First, our Alphabet friend Mimi the Mouse sang us a song about the letter Mm sound and we sang it with her. We than worked on reading our Mm book and point at each word they read. Many of the children are showing an understanding that pages are reparative and that they can be read from left to right. Then together we read the book If you give a Mouse a Muffin by Laura Numeroff.
今週は様々な方法でアルファベットのMを学びました。初めに、小さいネズミが歌うMの歌を聴き、次にみんなで一緒にそのうたをうたいました。そしてMの本を、文を指でなぞりながら読んでいきました。何度か繰り返し読むことで、文を左から右に読むことを学びました。 また、Laura Numeroffの If you give a Mouse a Muffin「ねずみにマフィンをあげたら」という本を一緒に読みました。
At the end of the week we reviewed the sentence frame “Mm if for _____” and looked through our Mm book for Mm words such as “Motorcycle, milk, monkey, marbles, moon, and mittens.” Than we made an art project with marbles and painted freely with them. They enjoyed watching the marbles dance on the white paper. Once their piece of art was done they traced/wrote the sentence frame “M is for marbles”.
週の最後には"M is for ~"という文章作りと、Motorcycle, milk, monkey, marbles, moon, and mittensのようにMがつく単語の本をみてMの復習をしました。ビー玉を使ってのペイントも行いました。
皆ビー玉が白い紙の上を転がる様子を興味深げに見ていました。ペイントが終わると、M is for marblesの文を鉛筆でなぞり、自分で書いてみました。
We continued our study into patterns with this fun song. This fun song “Banana Banana Meatball” shows children that patterns can be everywhere! They can be in the way we move to the markings on our clothes! At first children were not sure about the song but soon they were chanting “Banana Banana Meatball” even when the song wasn’t on. There is a video of them dancing to this song but currently it is too big to upload onto this site. I am exploring different ways to transfer it so you can watch it.
パターンの学習も引き続き行いました。『バナナ バナナ ミートボール』という面白い歌を通して、パターンは至る所に存在することを学びました。服の模様にもパターンをみつけました。初めはあまり歌にピンとこなかったようですが、次第に耳なじみになり、気付くと音楽がかかっていなくても『バナナ バナナ ミートボール』と口ずさんだり鼻歌を歌うようになりました。このうたのダンスの動画があるのですが、サイトをアップロードするには少しサイズが大きすぎるようで、他の方法でお見せできるように探してみたいと思います。
This inspired children to make pattern robot, nature art, and so on! Soon children were coming up to me showing me their clothes and how patterns were on them! They all enjoyed learning about the patterns and creating them! We also listened to this book on patterns! This book, The Pattern Fish" shows children that patterns can be created in different ways.
この歌は、ブロックでパターンロボットを作ったり、自然の物（枝や石など）を使ってパターンを作ったりと、様々なパターン遊びの動機付けとなったようです。子ども達の中には、自分の服にパターンがあることに気づいて先生に見せにきてくれる子もいます。皆パターンを学び、作ることを楽しんでいるようです。パターンの本も読みました。"Pattern Fish" という本で、いろいろな方法でパターンを作ることが可能だということを教えてくれる本です。

We continued our study into friendship!
Children also worked on the study of Friendship! This week we explored who are our friends in the classroom and the sentence frame "My friend is…."! Go ahead and ask your child who their friend is! they will proudly proclaim who they are! This will help us lead into next week as we explore how these friends make us feel! Also, this song, "The More We Get Together". is a classroom favorite due to it's use of sign language! Give it a listen!
友達をテーマに学習を続けています！
子ども達は友達について学んでいます。『私の友達は～』という文章に当てはめて、クラスの誰と友達なのかを紹介しています。おうちでも「誰とお友達なの？」とお友達の名前を聞いて見てください。きっと自慢げに教えてくれるはずです。この活動は、次の『お友達と感情』という学習の良い導入となります。また、"The More We Get Together"という歌は子ども達が大好きな歌の一つで、手話も取り入れています。
